If there's anything I've learned in this last year on the streets--
you find out who your friends are when you really need one.
There have been many surprising moments of clarity
and an overall lesson in the nature of modern society.
Selfishness abounds from the people you'd least expect.
When it comes from someone you were sure
you could count on-- it is a very sobering experience.
Selfless generosity from people I had previously
deemed to be beneath me...from that I learned
a lesson in humility and gratitude.
The ability to see them through God's eyes
and be able to love the spark of divinity within them.
Sometimes it is short-lived, but I keep trying anyway.
It is those selfless people with the least to give
sharing what they have
that have lifted a veil and added new perceptions.
